1.Plantation in Public Areras:
As a first activity of Green Guard
Society, we started plantation on the divider of a main road in
Machilipatnam, which leads to bus station. First we selected this
area of town because this is the road has the maximum rush with
heavy traffic and pollution.

Selection of plants:
According to local law we are supposed
to plant small herbs and shrubs on dividers of main road. So we
went to Nursery to select proper plants which meets the requirements
of local law and atmospheric conditions too .After lots of queries
we selected a plant called Nerium oleander Its scientific position
in plant kingdom is

We selected this plant because it
can tolerate the heat and drought conditions very easily. The
cattle on the road won’t eat these plants. And these plants
give good flowering thought year.
After some obstacles the plants settled
well, now they are flowering continuously.
This is the first and successful activity of Green Guard Society.
2. Plantation in houses:
After successful story of plantation
on road we extended our activity into houses.
We took the permission from the house owners and planted some
flowering and shady plants before the entrance of the house in
that manner the plants can give shade to the house as well as
the pedestrians.
As an activity of Green Guard Society we provided the plants and
their guards. The house owners providing water for the plants.
